To live in Albania for foreigners is a luxury, a peace or a miracle, but not for me. Albanians do not have a history full of triumphs and defeating peoples, they do not have a history of superpowers, however, they have a history among the oldest in the region.

My Albania, what can I say about this country? I love my country but I don’t love the “actresses” who lead us. I can only say what I feel and see every day for my nation, “Albania and the Eagles”. In this article I will talk about the other side of Albania.

Albania, located over the Adriatic from Italy, is a 2-hour trip from anyplace in Europe and is accessible by air, sea, and land.

To live in Albania for us Albanians is not that easy. Would you say why? All of you who want to explore Albania, read very nice content about our country. In reality, we have a beautiful country, even though it is small, there are explored and unexplored treasures in our land. But only for the nature that “Mother Nature” has given us. Have you ever wondered how Albanians think? I don’t think so.

Many articles are written about Albania, as in the article WHAT IT’S LIKE LIVING IN ALBANIA AS A TOURIST ဒါမှမဟုတ်အဖြစ် Living In Albania: Essential Expat Guide 2023 but it is simply a beautiful facade.

Unveiling The Secrets Of Albania’s.

Albania’s geographical location implies that it is visited by everyone because its primary seasons are generally spring, summer, and fall. The majority of cities have moderate winters and chilly temperatures, with blizzards happening every three years. If you enjoy snow, Albania has a number of beautiful mountain resorts.

The tourists who visit Albania remain satisfied with us, as with the food, the hospitality, the love we give them. It is true that we are a very generous people from ancient times to the present day, but are we so generous to ourselves? They say that everything is cheap in Albania. Even for those foreigners who now live in Albania, say the same thing, that life in Albania is beautiful and cheap.

 Is Albania a cheap country?

Given that Albania is currently a sought-after location due to its low cost of living, one commonly asked question is what the cost of living in Albania is. The fundamental question is whether earning a wage in Albania would be sufficient to cover all of the expenditures?

Albania has a minimum salary required by the government, and no worker in Albania shall be paid less than $313 per month, with a maximum compensation of $928 per month.
Employers in Albania who fail to pay the minimum wage may face penalties from the Albanian government.

Albania has high prices and very low wages, which brings massive poverty for the middle and lower class and ranks 66th among countries with the lowest minimum wage in the world.

In general, if you are used to a modest lifestyle, you can manage a month in Albania for $600 and with prices that in 2023 have increased 3 times more than last year? In order not to say that these 600 dollars are for state obligations, for rent or to raise an average family of 4 members.

As an Albanian, I say that it is impossible. I don’t want to stop at high society, because I know very well that this minimum wage for them is as much as buying a pair of signature sneakers per day.

The public healthcare system is divided into three service levels: primary, secondary, and tertiary. There are around 413 public healthcare clinics that provide basic and secondary healthcare services, as well as 42 public hospitals that provide tertiary healthcare services. Pharmaceutical and dental treatments are virtually completely provided by private companies.

Healthcare was sufficient under Soviet administration, but once the Soviet state crumbled, inadequate financing was made available to operate hospitals and services, and healthcare declined. Things have begun to improve, but they remain far below the standards found in Western European countries, with a limited variety of equipment and medical technology accessible.

In the state hospitals in Albania, if you don’t bribe the doctor, you will never get well, and that’s why we always go to private hospitals to get cured. Would our minimum wage be enough for this fact?

Is Albania a suitable country to live in?

Albania is regarded as a safe place to live. There are no significant hazards or threats. Having saying that, try to avoid crowds wherever feasible. Petty crime is frequent in tourist zones and other densely inhabited locations.

Albania has a problem with organized criminals, but the only evidence you will see is the Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Bentleys that appear on the Bllok in Tirana. Therefore, the USA ranks Albania at level 2, but this does not mean that all Albanians are criminals.

Crimes in Albania are mostly for revenge and settlement of accounts, nothing happens to anyone if he is not involved in dark businesses.

Working in Albania.

Finding a job in Albania for Albanians is very difficult for several reasons.

The first is that you never compete at work, even though it is in the law, it is never enforced. You get a job if you bribe or if you have a strong friend.

The second is that the Prime Minister has created an online portal to compete for jobs, does not win the job by merit but by corrupting.

And the last thing is that we as a people never protest for these things that I have mentioned in this article. If we protest, we will fail because. Our voices are not heard and not everyone participates because they are afraid that our government will fire them.

To work in Albania for foreign citizens who want to work in Albania must apply for a work permit. They are provided by the Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth and may be obtained through your home country’s Albanian embassy.

Throughout the application procedure, you may be eligible to begin working in Albania. Read more How to get job in Tirana? A quick guide for everyone, foreigner or Albanian.
